Journal Reflection:
"Personally, I’ve picked these five topics because I felt that there is a connection and the meaning behind each development/ journey helps to bring each design to life and carries a stronger message behind the creation than being a standalone instead without than true meaning of a design.

If we look at Fun Palace & Masterclass Designers: The Singapore One, a place to create a mixture of entertainment, leisure, education and able to have a communal area for interaction. They both shares almost the same conceptual of using an entire area not only for retail, interaction or entertainment but as well as living quarters for the masterclass designer: the Singapore one. Were created not long after the post war era, where efforts of rebuilding to get people into normal life’s again, that I’m deeply affectionate about, because not only you’re creating a space but there’s a whole different meaning behind the creation and bringing people the people together as part of the rebuilding efforts.

The Haptic and The Tactile, a sense of location in a space with the awareness that is achieved through exploration of surfaces and objects by touching. That have assisted me when I am working on my project modules by assisting and allocating myself with sight and touch. To imagine better in an environment or position that helped me produce ideation and concepts, which enables me to bring my project further by evaluation of the space where not only spatial but lighting, reflection and materials that do take a part as well to create a space.

Naomi Klein - Realism or Reality, understanding what being real while facing the reality of being in a real world and illusion that does not match with the reality of this world. Which helps me to focus more in depth of research or topics that I am covering with or about, enables me to really open myself up to the reality of this world. Questioning myself by putting my position in another to further enhance and improve myself as an individual to provide solutions and problems that will help to minimize gaps and loop holes.

China in Design, that shows great political overhaul that used to separate china and slowly turning into an economically independence nation that shown great progression but at the same time with a different mixed identity of a design due to the used of communist policy than that only used to display propaganda before opening to the world after another leader took over. Which provide me with a better insight of being a professional individual that creating our own identity as a designer is very importantly, thus, only that you will be able to create things that are only done by you in a unique manner.

In Conclusion, the five topics helped me to develop myself to better understand and appreciate. Because everything we do there’s a goal we work towards to and at the end of the day it helps not only the people but to create a better place for everyone." ~ Ng Jian Jun
